NWS Receives Phase II STTR Contract

Effective 14 February 2008 NWS received a Phase II Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) contract from the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command in Huntsville, AL. The funding Sponsor is the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). This Research and Development effort, entitled "Rosetta Phone," will be performed under a collaborative partnership with Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. It involves using a cell phone to capture, translate and interpret textual information, especially targeted foreign languages.
